Olympus & OM System Photography Courses in Sydney

Get more from your Olympus or OM System camera with personalised fotography lessons

Have you bought an Olympus or OM System camera and feel there's so much more it can do, but you're not quite sure where to start?

Whether you're using an Olympus OM-D, Olympus PEN or one of the newer OM System cameras, I can help you understand its features, get comfortable with the settings and start taking better fotos.

I'm Foto Joe, and I've been teaching fotography since 2005, including working with Olympus Australia to help photographers understand and enjoy their cameras.

My lessons are personalised to your camera, your experience and the kinds of fotos you'd like to take.

No confusing technical jargon, no pressure to keep up with a large class and no such thing as a silly question. Just friendly, practical learning at your own pace.

Learn F-Stops, Shutter Speed & ISO

Discover how to take control of your Olympus or OM System camera and move beyond Auto mode.

We'll explore how aperture, shutter speed and ISO work together to control exposure, freeze movement, create blurred backgrounds and capture sharper fotos.

You'll also learn how to navigate your camera's menu system, customise useful settings and understand features such as autofocus, image stabilisation and the different shooting modes.

Olympus and OM System cameras offer some fantastic creative features. I'll help you understand which ones are useful for the way you shoot.

Understand Your Olympus & OM System Lenses

Your lenses play an important role in how your fotos look.

Learn how focal length, aperture and depth of field affect your images, whether you're photographing portraits, landscapes, wildlife, travel or everyday moments.

We'll explore your existing M.Zuiko lenses and how to get the most out of the Micro Four Thirds system.

You'll learn when to use different focal lengths, how to control background blur and how to make better use of the lenses you already own.

You might be surprised how much more your existing equipment can do once you understand it.

Personal Lessons

Learning fotography should be enjoyable, inspiring and practical.

My personal lessons give you the freedom to ask questions, experiment and learn at your own pace.

Whether you're a complete beginner or already comfortable with your Olympus camera, we can explore composition, natural light, portraits, low-light fotography, autofocus and more advanced techniques.

We can also investigate some of the features that make Olympus and OM System cameras particularly interesting, including Live Composite, focus bracketing, computational fotography and advanced image stabilisation, depending on your camera model.

My goal is simple: to help you become more confident and creative with your camera.
